Peter Stetina (born August 8, 1987 in Boulder ) is an American cyclist .

Career

Peter Stetina became US junior road racing champion in 2005 and US U23 time trial champion in 2008 and 2009 . With a stage of the Ronde de l'Isard , he won his first race on the international calendar in 2009.

For the 2010 season, Stetina received his first contract with a cycling team of the highest UCI category , the Garmin-Transitions team , for which he did his first of eight "Grand Tours" up to 2019 with the Giro d'Italia 2011 and finished 22nd. He was also fourth overall in the Tour de Langkawi 2013.

Stetina moved to BMC Racing Team in 2014 and after two more years to Trek-Segafredo . He won a stage of the Cascade Cycling Classic in 2017 and finished fifth overall in the Colorado Classic . After Stetina already next to the in season 2019 road cycling and Gravel competitions denied he left Trek Segafredo the end of the season to complete to the gravel and long space mountain to devote -race.

Peter Stetina comes from a family of cyclists. His father Dale Stetina won the overall ranking of the Vuelta a Costa Rica and twice the Cascade Cycling Classic . His uncle Wayne Stetina was twice American time trial champion.
