Dalvin Tomlinson (born February 28, 1994 in McDonough , Georgia ) is an American football player serving as nose tackle for the New York Giants of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Alabama Crimson Tide .

High school

Tomlinson attended Henry County High School in McDonough , where he was a successful wrestler in addition to football .

college

In 2012 Tomlinson was awarded a scholarship to the University of Alabama and played for the local Alabama Crimson Tide as a defensive tackle. In his four years in college, he collected 122 tackles and four sacks.

In his senior year alone, he had 62 tackles, three sacks and a forced fumble and was so instrumental in the fact that the Crimson Tide won all 14 games of the season and advanced to the National Championship as first seed. However, the final was lost against the Clemson Tigers with 31:35. Tomlinson was elected to the Senior Bowl , the All Star Game of college football.

NFL

The New York Giants selected Tomlinson in the NFL Draft 2017 in the second round in 55th place. He signed a four-year contract for $ 4.57 million including a $ 1.46 million signing bonus.

The then head coach Ben McAdoo appointed Tomlinson as a starter on the position of the defensive tackle . After Damon Harrison's trade , he became a Starting Nose Tackle .
