Damelang is part of the municipality of Planebruch and is located in the Brück district in the Potsdam-Mittelmark district ( Brandenburg ).

Damelang is a Rundling that was first mentioned in a document in 1215. After it burned down again in 1877, it was rebuilt larger, the village church on the Anger , a neo-Romanesque brick building, only in 1882. In the 1880s, Damelang grew together with its district of Teerofen.

On February 1, 1974, Damelang and the neighboring municipality of Freienthal merged to form the municipality of Damelang-Freienthal, which voluntarily merged with Cammer on January 31, 2002 to form the new municipality of Planebruch.
