Damian Davey (born September 30, 1964 as Damian Baker in Manchester , England ; † February 12, 2017 ) was a British actor and singer , who was best known under his stage name Damian .

biography

Damian Davey was a member of the ensemble for the performance of the musical The Rocky Horror Show in London in the 1980s . His performance of the song The Time Warp in particular met with great enthusiasm from the audience. This led him to release the song as a single in 1986 . The 1987 single The Time Warp II was placed in the British singles charts at number 51. A re-release in the following year landed at 64. It was only with a remix version in 1989 that the desired success came: The Time Warp stayed in the top for three weeks Ten and rose to number 7. The follow - up single Wig Wam Bam , a Sweet cover , reached number 49 in the British charts. After that, Damian Davey returned to acting.

Davey died of cancer on February 12, 2017 after a three-year illness .
