Damien Deroubaix

Damien Deroubaix (* 1972 in Lille ) is a French painter, sculptor and wood cutter.

life and career

Damien Deroubaix was educated at the Ecole des Beaux Arts de Saint-Etienne and at the Academy of Fine Arts Karlsruhe . He lives and works in Berlin . In addition to drawings and woodcuts, he also makes collages and installations. Most of his works are based on apocalyptic scenes.

"Quotes from the Germanic atmosphere" and references to Hans Holbein, Otto Dix , Max Beckmann and Martin Kippenberger have already been seen in his works , but also influences from Mike Kelley and Raymond Pettibon .
