Damona King
Damona King is the main character of Horror - Heftroman series Damona King - The Vanquisher of Darkness , which in Bastei appeared. From volume 75 the series was subtitled A woman against ghosts and demons .

Damona King is the main female character and namesake of the horror series. She lives in the fictional town of Manrock Fearn, which is said to be in the middle of the Grampian Mountains in Scotland . Damona is a white witch who promises her mother Vanessa on her deathbed that she will fight evil. In her possession is a black magic stone that she uses as a weapon against evil. She can also use the stone to contact her mother's spirit. In the course of the series, Damona loses the stone and has to make use of other magical sources in order to continue fighting her enemies successfully. After Vanessa is finally allowed to go to heaven, Damona is dependent on her own strength and has to act independently.
The series was originally conceived as a horror for women. The concept was abandoned in the planning phase in favor of a real horror series. Despite the change to the male suspense novel, borrowings from the romantic thriller remained. The presentation was more playful, the background of some of the characters, the sonorous first names, the tragic component in the relationship with Mike Hunters etc. tended towards the 'horror of women' and were so obviously aimed at a more female audience, so that the original focus was never completely lost went.
Werner Kurt Giesa and Manfred Weinland integrated some of their characters from the ghost thriller (especially the silver moon druids) into the series. These were taken over into the series Professor Zamorra after the hiring and the associated departure of the authors .
Publication frequency and authors
Volume 1, entitled The Black Angel , was published on April 3, 1979 . From 1979 to 1984 , a total of 107 Damona King novels were published every 14 days. After the stand-alone series was discontinued, 22 further novels were published as a sub-series in the ghost crime thriller . In John Sinclair -novel Asmodinas Angel of Death (Volume 103; 1983) Damona King has a guest appearance.
