The Damschroder rock is a 1595 m high rocky outcrop in the West Antarctic Queen Elizabeth Land . In the Pensacola Mountains, it rises at the end of a snow-covered mountain ridge that extends 4 km to the west from the central Pecora Escarpment .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it on the basis of its own measurements and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1956 to 1966. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1968 after Gerald H. Damschroder (* 1938), construction mechanic at the plateau station in Antarctic winter 1966.
