Dan Hardy (born May 17, 1982 ) is a British mixed martial arts fighter from Nottingham . His nickname is The Outlaw . On March 26, 2011, his match record was 23 wins, nine defeats and one fight without rating.

Dan Hardy started taekwondo at the age of six . Later he also trained muay thai and other martial arts. He made his MMA debut in June 2004 at Extreme Brawl 7 . Most of the fights of his career he completed with the British organizer Cage Warriors , whose welterweight and light-welterweight world title he was able to win.

In 2008 Hardy moved to the Ultimate Fighting Championship . He had his first fight in October when he defeated Akihiro Gono on points at UFC 89 . After winning over Rory Markham and Marcus Davis , Hardy faced Mike Swick in November 2009 . Hardy went out of the ring as the winner and thus fought for the right to a title fight against the welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre . The fight went on at UFC 111 in March 2010 for a full five rounds and St. Pierre was declared the winner. The next fight, at UFC 120 in October, Dan Hardy lost by knockout to Carlos Condit . Also at the UFC - Fight Night 24 on March 26th against Anthony Johnson he lost to his opponent, this time by unanimous decision.

Dan Hardy loves metal and punk music and is sponsored by the British music label Earache Records . His run-in music is England Belongs to Me by Cock Sparrer , with whom he recorded a new version of the song.
