Kardas came from a very successful ski jumping family in Canada. He made his international debut in the 1993/94 season as part of the Ski Jumping Continental Cup . After he reached rank 85 in the overall ranking with 88 points in the first season, he made his debut in the Ski Jumping World Cup on March 25, 1994 . At the Team World Cup in Thunder Bay , he finished ninth with Grant Harder , Jeremy Blackburn and John Lockyer . In the two individual competitions in the following days he reached positions 53 and 47. He was far behind the points. In the 1994/95 season he then started again in the Continental Cup. However, he could no longer build on his achievements and only achieved 27 points and thus 127th place in the overall ranking. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1995 in Thunder Bay, he started again for Canada , finishing in 46th place on the normal hill and 47th on the large hill.
