Dan Maes

Daniel B. "Dan" Maes (born January 12, 1961 in Evergreen , Colorado ) is an American politician .

Maes was the candidate of the Republican Party in the gubernatorial elections in the United States in 2010 for the post of governor of Colorado. As a political career changer, he won the primaries on August 10 with 50.6% to 49.3% against longtime Congressman Scott McInnis . He finished the election itself with 11 percent of the vote in third place behind the runner-up Tom Tancredo (37%) and the winner John Hickenlooper ( Democrats , 51%).
