dance4life international is a worldwide youth movement against HIV and AIDS . History of Germany

Dance4life Germany was founded in 2008 under the sponsorship of the Kulturzentrum Lagerhaus Bremen eV and initially on the basis of purely voluntary work. From 2010 to 2011 the initiative is co-financed by the EU. In 2011 dance4life Germany cooperated with the Action Alliance against AIDS , the Federal Center for Health Education (BZgA) and World Vision for the first time nationwide. The "School Challenge" is taking place this year in cooperation with the condom manufacturer Durex .

schools4life

The dance4life Germany team organizes the so-called schools4life programs at German schools. These are one-day workshops that educate young people about HIV and AIDS and connect them through shared experiences in the group. In alternation with information blocks, the young people learn the specially developed, globally identical dance4life dance.

School Challenge 2011

In 2011 dance4life starts a nationwide awareness campaign against HIV and AIDS in German schools for the first time. As part of the “Heart Connection Tour”, the dance4life crew, consisting of dancers, musicians and people living with HIV, visits a total of 48 schools across Germany. After the workshop, the young people implement their own attention-grabbing action for their school in the fight against HIV and AIDS, the so-called "act4life". With a short video of their project, the students can then take part in the School Challenge 2011 competition. After participating in the workshops, the young people can apply for a live concert, which will be organized in cooperation with the TV broadcaster VIVA for the winner's school.
