Danièle Laumann

Danièle Laumann (born July 8, 1961 in Toronto ) is a former Canadian rower .

Danièle Laumann started rowing in high school. In 1979 she was second in the Canadian championships in the singles . In 1980 she was in the Canadian Olympic squad that did not appear in Moscow because of the Olympic boycott. In 1981 she was Canadian champion, in 1982 she took second place. At the World Championships in 1983 in Duisburg, she joined with her sister Silken Laumann and with Dolores Young , Carla Pace and tax wife Carolyn Trono in the quadruple sculls , reaching ninth place.

At the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles , Silken and Danièle Laumann started in double sculls . In the preliminary run, the Canadians took second place behind the Romanians Mărioara Popescu and Elisabeta Oleniuc , and in the hope run they reached third place. In the final, the two Romanians won ahead of the Dutch and Canadians.

After the Olympic Games, Danièle Laumann was no longer active internationally, but continued to row for the Don Rowing Club in Mississauga.
