Liz Barnes
Liz Barnes (actually Elizabeth Ann Barnes, married Laban; born August 3, 1951 in Woolwich ) is a former British middle-distance runner and sprinter .
At the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal, she was seventh in the 4-by-400-meter relay and was eliminated over 800 m in the run.
Over 800 m she finished fourth for England at the Commonwealth Games in Edmonton in 1978 and reached the semi- finals at the European Athletics Championships in Prague . At the European Athletics Indoor Championships in 1980 in Sindelfingen and at the Pacific Conference Games in 1981, she won bronze.
In 1980 she became English indoor champion over 400 m .
