Daniel Clasen

Daniel Clasen (born May 1, 1622 in Lüneburg , † November 20, 1678 in Helmstedt ) was a German legal scholar.

Life

Clasen was the son of a merchant. He attended the Johannis School in Lüneburg , switched to the Andreas School in Braunschweig because of the plague in 1639 and returned to Lüneburg in 1640. In the same year he moved to the University of Helmstedt , where he studied philosophy and law. In 1646 he became a master's degree, in 1647 vice rector in Magdeburg , on September 28, 1648 rector, 1660 professor of ethics and politics at the Knights' Academy in Lüneburg , 1661 doctor of rights in Helmstedt and 1669 professor there.
