Daniel Deckers (* 1960 in Düsseldorf ) is a German journalist , editor and book author.

Life

Daniel Deckers grew up in Cologne . After graduating from the Apostle High School , he studied Catholic theology in Freiburg i. Üe. , Bonn , Cologne and Bogotá . In 1991 he graduated from the the Catholic Jesuit order supported Philosophy and Theology Sankt Georgen Graduate School in Frankfurt the Dr. theol. with a thesis on the doctrine of justice by Francisco de Vitoria .

After a few years as a research assistant in Freiburg i. Üe. (until 1993) and freelancer for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (since 1988), he became a political editor there in 1993. Since 2000 he has been working for the FAZ in the “The Present” department, which he has been heading since 2011. His main focus is the Roman Catholic Church in Germany and worldwide . He also writes for specialist magazines such as Fine - Das Weinmagazin about the past and present of viticulture in Germany.

Private

Daniel Deckers is married with six children.
