Daniel Dutra da Silva (born July 5, 1988 in São Paulo ) is a Brazilian tennis player . He is the younger brother of tennis professional Rogério Dutra da Silva .

Career

Dutra da Silva had success on the Junior Tour. Even if he could not convince at Grand Slam tournaments, he won two other tournaments and in October 2006 was ranked 18th in the junior rankings.

In his professional career, Dutra da Silva regularly won futures tournaments , to date they have totaled 23 singles titles and 19 doubles titles. In his first year as a professional in 2007, he already had four titles in futures and two other finals in the individual. In Sanremo 2008 he came to his first assignment on the ATP Challenger Tour . In the same year he also took part in three quarter-finals and ended the year in the top 300 of the tennis world rankings for the first time in 290th place . In doubles he was 510th. At the beginning of 2009 the Brazilian struggled through the qualification of the tournament in Costa do Sauípe , whereupon he had his only appearance on the ATP World Tour so far . He lost to Nicolas Devilder in straight sets. In May of that year he reached his career high in individual with rank 231.

In the following years Dutra da Silva moved in the ranking list in the singles mainly between the places 350 and 550. He played either futures or in the qualification of Challengers, where he never got beyond the first or second round in the main draw. In doubles he reached two finals at Challengers: 2008 in Belo Horizonte and 2016 in Cali , both of which were lost. In 2013 he achieved his best score there with place 261. In 2018 he failed to win a future title for the first time since 2011.
