Daniel Gottschlich

Daniel Gottschlich (born November 16, 1982 in Troisdorf ) is a German chef .

Career

Gottschlich learned to be a power plant electronics technician. He then trained as a chef at the Steigenberger Grandhotel Petersberg in Königswinter . Then he was sous chef at the Früh brewery in Cologne .

In August 2010 he opened the Ox & Klee in Cologne , in a basement in the Neustadt-Süd district of Cologne, a restaurant for a maximum of 26 guests - “with bratwurst and sauerkraut”. His girlfriend dropped out of college and did the service. In 2015 he was awarded a Michelin star . In September 2016 the restaurant moved to the central crane building . That year Gottschlich also opened his second restaurant Bayleaf (since 2019 The Bayleaf ) on the ground floor of the same building.

In 2019 the second Michelin star was added for the Ox & Klee .

Private

In addition to his job, Gottschlich is a passionate drummer. On June 22, 2019, he played the concert piece Hors d'oeuvre by the Slovenian composer Vito Žuraj at the Funkhaus Wallrafplatz in Cologne as a soloist with kitchen utensils together with the WDR Symphony Orchestra . He is also the drummer in the music project The Filles.
