Daniel Granville West, Baron Granville-West

Daniel Granville West, Baron Granville-West , (born March 17, 1904 in Newport , † September 23, 1984 in Pontypool ) was a British Labor Party politician .

He was born in Born, Newport . West studied law at the University College of Wales . He worked as a notary. From 1939 to 1947 he was a councilor in the Monmouthshire District Assembly . During World War II he was in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve .

In the 1946 by-election he was elected to the British House of Commons for the constituency of Pontypool , and in 1950 he became the private parliamentary secretary of Interior Secretary James Chuter Ede .

In 1958, as Baron Granville-West, he was one of the first to become a Life Peer after the Life Peerages Act 1958 came into force . His successor in the House of Commons was Leo Abse . He died in Pontypool at the age of 80.
