Daniel Hoelgaard (born July 1, 1993 in Stavanger ) is a Norwegian cyclist .

Athletic career

Hoelgaard was Norwegian road racing champion in 2010 with the juniors. At the end of 2012 he drove as a stagiaire for Team Team Øster Hus-Ridley and won the Kernen Omloop Echt-Susteren in the team's jersey . From 2013 he started for the Czech team Etixx-iHNed . The following year Hoelgaard won a stage each of the Tour de Bretagne and the Ronde de l'Oise ; in the latter race he also achieved fourth place overall. In addition, he won two parts of the Czech stage race Okolo Jižních Čech .

From 2015 Hoelgaard drove for the Norwegian team Joker and won one part each of the Tour de Normandie and again the Tour de Bretagne. In the overall rankings, he finished fourth in Normandy and third in Brittany. For the 2016 season, Hoelgaard moved to the French WorldTeam FDJ . The team won the team time trial at the Tour of the Mediterranean Sea that same year . In 2017 he started a big tour for the first time and finished 125th in the overall ranking of the Vuelta a España

Hoelgaard is the brother of cross-country skier Stian Hoelgaard and racing cyclist Markus Hoelgaard .
