Stian Hoelgaard (born September 25, 1991 ) is a Norwegian cross-country skier .

Career

Hoelgaard made his debut in the Scandinavian Cup in Nes in January 2012 , where he finished 63rd in the 15 km freestyle and sprint. In December 2012 he finished 138th in the 30 km classic mass start race in Sjusjøen . In February 2013 Hoelgaard was twelfth at the Tartu Maraton . In January 2014 he finished 16th at the Marcialonga . A year later he finished the race in ninth place. In January 2016, Hoelgaard finished fifth at the Jizera Mountains Run , came sixth at La Diagonela and finished third at the Marcialonga on the podium. At the beginning of March 2016, he finished second in the Wasalauf . In the 2016/17 season he took third place at the Vasaloppet China , the Kaiser Maximilian Run , the Wasalauf and the Ylläs – Levi ski marathon and thus achieved fourth place in the overall ranking of the Ski Classics . In 2018 he finished third and in 2019 second in the Wasalauf. In the 2019/20 season he finished third in the prologue in Livigno and second in the Wasalauf, third place in the overall ranking of the Ski Classics.

Personal

Hoelgaard is the older brother of Daniel and Markus Hoelgaard , who are both racing cyclists.
