Daniel Keller

Daniel Keller (born August 9, 1986 in Potsdam ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and sports official . In the state elections in Brandenburg in 2019 , he received a direct mandate in the state parliament of Brandenburg in the state constituency of Potsdam II . Daniel Keller has been President of the German Judo Association since 2019 .

Daniel Keller is a children's and youth sports trainer and runs a company that offers services for sports clubs. Since 2015 he has held a mandate in the city council of Potsdam. Since his re-election in 2019, he has been co-chair of the SPD parliamentary group. In addition, he is a member of the main committee and committee for education, youth and sport of the city council and member of the supervisory board of Stadtwerke Potsdam and the association of the Mittelbrandenburgische Sparkasse .

In the media, Daniel Keller's victory against the long-time member of the state parliament and multiple candidate for the election of Potsdam's mayor, Hans-Jürgen Scharfenberg , was perceived as a sensation. In the year of the election to the Brandenburg state parliament, Daniel Keller was elected by the SPD parliamentary group as its parliamentary manager . The former judo sports student at the Eliteschule des Sports Frankfurt (Oder) has been chairman of the SV Motor Babelsberg sports club in Potsdam since 2013, was president of the Brandenburg Judo Association from 2017 to 2019 and has been president of the German Judo Association since 2019 .
