Daniel Kojo Schrade

Daniel Kojo Schrade (* 1967 in Rail now Öhningen ) is a German artist (painting, performance).

Life

From 1987 to 1993 Daniel Kojo Schrade studied both at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich with Jürgen Reipka and at the Facultad de Bellas Artes of the University of Castile-La Mancha , Cuenca (Spain) . Schrade has been Professor of Painting at Hampshire College in Amherst (Massachusetts) USA since 2008 . In 2010 he was visiting professor at the University of Bayreuth . Daniel Kojo Schrade lives in Amherst (USA) and Munich.

Act

"Afronaut" is the title of a series of pictures that Daniel Kojo Schrade began in 1999. Before “Afronaut” there were other groups of works in whose titles Schrade also made direct references to African cultural areas or defined an intercultural position, such as “Brother Beethoven”, “Made in Diaspora” and “Stop Look Listen”.
