Daniel Leites (born February 28, 1982 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

society

According to his club, the 1.76 meter tall defensive player Leites was under contract at the beginning of his career from at least the Clausura 2002 to the Clausura 2006 with Nacional Montevideo in the Primera División . His team won the Uruguayan championship during this period in the 2002, 2005 and 2005/06 seasons. In the Clausura 2007 he played for the Montevideo Wanderers . He spent the 2007/08 season in the ranks of the first division club Centro Atlético Fénix . At that time, in late 2007, his son Bryan was diagnosed with cancer of the spine. In the following years he received support from his former association Nacional, which organized a benefit game in 2009 to finance his son's therapy. After his stint at Fénix, he moved to Club Atlético Cerro , for which he was active in the 2008/09 and 2009/10 seasons. In the latter championship round he was used there in 31 league games and scored one goal. During his time with the Montevideans, he won the Liguilla Pre-Libertadores (Copa Artigas) with the team in 2009 . In August 2010 he moved to Argentina for a year on loan to Tiro Federal , for which he played ten games in 2010/11. A move back to Uruguay for Cerro Largo FC in 2011 was followed by 20 appearances ( no goal) in the 2011/12 season and 21 appearances (one goal) in the 2012/13 season for his new employer. For the 2013/14 season he joined the Club Atlético Cerro for the second time. He ran in 29 encounters and scored a goal. That season he was alleged to have deliberately influenced the course of the game by an own goal in the game against El Tanque Sisley and to have been bribed. However, he firmly refused. In the current 2014/15 season he has been used in 15 top division games (no goal) so far (as of January 17, 2015). Due to differences, he was released from training after the Apertura and the club gave him the approval for a change despite a contract that ran until July 2015. Cerros President Miguel Panosian made it clear, however, that there were no personal problems with the player, but that financial considerations, among other things, also played a role, as one wanted to reduce the costs of the squad. Since then, Leites has trained at the players' union, among others. At the end of February 2015, he then joined the second division Villa Teresa on loan , where he contributed to promotion to the Primera División in 2015 with 13 second division appearances (no goal). For the 2015/16 season he was firmly committed and played 14 times (no goal) in the top Uruguayan league. In mid-July 2016, he moved to Club Atlético Progreso .
