Daniel Sánchez , full name Daniel Florencio Sánchez Núñez , (born May 3, 1961 in Montevideo ) is a former Uruguayan football player and current coach.
Player career
societies
The 1.81-meter-tall defensive player Sánchez was at the beginning of his career from 1981 to 1984 in ranks of River Plate Montevideo . From July 1984 to mid-1985 he played for Liverpool Montevideo . He then worked for the Rampla Juniors from July 1985 to the end of June 1986 . This was followed by a career at Central Español from July 1986 to mid-1987 . Subsequently, Danubio FC was his employer in the Primera División for three years . With the Montevideans he was with the team in 1988 for the first time in the club's history of Uruguayan champions. In early July 1991, the Club Atlético Peñarol signed him . After a year with the "Aurinegros" he returned to Danubio FC. This last career station lasted until mid-1993.
National team
Sánchez made his debut on September 27, 1988 in the Uruguayan senior team . His last international appearance was on August 15, 1993 in a 1-1 draw in the World Cup qualifier against Brazil. He took part in the Copa America in 1991 and 1993 with the “Celeste” . In total, he played 26 full internationals. He didn't score a goal.
Coaching
After his active career, Sánchez was Sports Director at Central Español from December 2009 to the end of February 2010 and then took over the position of coach until June 2011. From June 2011 to September 2012 he worked as a coach at Danubio FC . He then worked in the same role at Miramar Misiones from February 2014 to October 2014 .
