Daniel Stålhammar

Daniel Stålhammar (* 20th October 1974 in Landskrona ) is a Swedish FIFA - referee .

Career

Stålhammar played football at Häljarps IF before a groin injury ended his playing career. After leading his first games as a referee in the youth field at the age of 13, he whistled his first adult game at the age of 16 when he was appointed to direct a seventh division game. From 1995 he was finally referee at Svenska Fotbollförbundet and made his debut in the Superettan in 2000 . Two years later he whistled his first game in the Allsvenskan . He made his first international appearances in 2001, and in 2004 he was promoted to FIFA referee.

In December 2008 the Swedish Federation decided to make six referees semi-professionals; Stålhammar was one of the chosen.
