Daniel Zamudio

Daniel Zamudio (born August 28, 1885 in Bogotá ; † July 3, 1952 ) was a Colombian composer and musicologist.

Life

Zamudio received his first lessons from his father Daniel Zamudio Torres and then studied at the Academia Nacional de Música with Santos Cifuentes Rodríguez and Honorio Alarcón .

He worked as an organist in several churches in Bogotá. In 1915 he founded the Sociedad Palestrina , whose director he became. He was director of the music schools of Cartagena and San Juan de Pasto and in 1943 of the Conservatory of Popayán . From 1945 he directed the orchestra of the Policía Nacional .
