Daniela Ambrosoli (born November 10, 1941 in Ascona ) is a Swiss entrepreneur , patron , founder and president of the Pierino Ambrosoli Foundation and a film director .

Life

Daniela Ambrosoli, daughter of the German expressive dancer Sonja Bragowa and the Lombardy-born Ticino businessman Pierino Ambrosoli , was born in Ascona, Switzerland. She attended school in Ascona and Locarno , where she passed the federal, classic Matura . In the following years she studied at the universities of Florence, Zurich and Geneva and gained work experience in the fields of psychology and medicine.

After the untimely death of her father, she learned management and took over some of the companies that were founded by her father and businessman, among them the Camping Delta in Locarno in 1983 together with her husband and the real estate company Amministrazioni Immobiliari Ambrosoli also in Locarno . In 1999 she founded Travel & Culture Management AG in Zurich.

In 1990 Daniela Ambrosoli founded the Pierino Ambrosoli Foundation in Zurich, an organization that supports the training of young talents in their dance and music education around the world.

In the following years Daniela Ambrosoli became a member of several boards of directors of international associations, for example Prix ​​de Lausanne , which are involved in the fields of dance and music as well as in humanitarian and social fields, for example Soroptimist International , Union Switzerland.

In 2008/2009 Daniela Ambrosoli made a documentary about Hermann Nitsch , the Austrian artist and founding father of Viennese Actionism . Together with her team, including Aliocha Merker as cameraman and director of photography and Johannes Nakajima as editor, she accompanies Hermann Nitsch in his private life and life as an artist for a whole year, in order to then document the moving portrait of this extraordinary man. In 2011 the film HN Hermann Nitsch was awarded the Audience Award for the best documentary at the Beverly Hills Film Festival in Los Angeles.

In 2017, “The Making of a Dream - Life as a ballet dancer” was created, a film essay about ballet, dance, dancers and their lives. This documentary focuses on the difficult path of discerning young people from their first steps in amateur dance schools to a career as a leading dance actor in one of the world's most famous dance companies. Interviews were carried out with famous protagonists of the dance scene worldwide, such as the well-known dancer, Etoile from Milan Scala, Béjart's muse Luciana Savignano, as well as with the Swiss actress Sabine Timoteo , a former dancer. The documentary was shot in many renowned dance companies and schools in Switzerland, the Netherlands, Italy and in the USA (Boston and New York). From May 2018 "The Making of a Dream" was shown at the Stüssihof cinema in Zurich for six weeks and distributed worldwide by Taskovskifilms London.
