Daniela Birkenfeld (* 12. October 1959 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German politician of the CDU .

Life

Professional background

After graduating from high school in 1978, Daniela Birkenfeld began training in administration with the city of Frankfurt, which she completed with a degree in administration. She then completed a degree in economics, law and political science at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main and studied international law at McGill University in Montreal , Canada , which she completed with an LL.M. completed. In 1989 she passed the second state examination and obtained her doctorate in law in 1990.

Birkenfeld worked briefly as a lawyer specializing in inheritance and family law. From 1991 to 2007 she was a professor at the Hesse University of Applied Sciences in the subjects of general administrative law, construction law, municipal and European law. The compendium on municipal law in Hesse that she wrote has been published in seven editions.

Political career

Daniela Birkenfeld became a member of the CDU in 1980 and a member of the surrounding association of Frankfurt in 1989. Since 1992 she has been a member of the Frankfurt District Executive and the Rhine-Main CDU District Executive. In 1998 she became chairwoman of the Frauen-Union Frankfurt and has been a member of the federal executive committee of the Frauen-Union since 2001. In 2001 she was elected as a city ​​councilor in Frankfurt am Main and was chairwoman of the Education and Integration Committee there. She has been a full-time city ​​councilor in Frankfurt am Main since 2007 , initially as a department head for social affairs and sports, and since 2009 for social affairs, senior citizens, youth and law.
