Daniela Döring

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Daniela Döring (born February 27, 1966 in Annahütte ) is a German engineer . Since 2008 she has been professor for system and control engineering at the Lausitz University of Applied Sciences and the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg .

Origin and family environment

Döring grew up in Senftenberg ( Brandenburg ). Her parents are the physicist Wolf-Rüdiger Döring (* 1939) and the pharmaceutical engineer Jutta Antonia Döring (* 1941). On her father's side, Daniela Döring is descended from Georg Döring (1570–1636), who settled in Hörgenau (Hesse) in the 16th century. The Dörings emigrated to Pomerania (Stettin) in the early 18th century. Your paternal grandfather was the mechanical engineer Dr.-Ing. Rudolf Döring (1900–1985), who was technical director of the Concordia coal-fired power station in Nachterstedt from 1933 to 1959 .

education

Döring attended the Polytechnic High School ( Adolf-Hennecke -Oberschule) in Senftenberg. Despite very good school performance, she was initially denied the opportunity to graduate from high school (primarily for political reasons). From 1982 to 1985 she trained as an MSR technician . In order to increase her chances for a university study, she decided in 1985 to serve as a non-commissioned officer in the National People's Army for three years . During her time in the army, she was targeted by the State Security, was arrested and given a sentence of several weeks.

After completing his military service, Döring took up his university entrance qualification at the Technical University of Leipzig . From 1989 to 1994 she completed a (university) degree in engineering there . Her academic teachers at this time included Siegfried Altmann , Herbert Ehrlich , Günter Stein , Klaus-Peter Schulze , Werner Kriesel , Klaus Steinbock and others

From 1994 to 1998 she worked in an engineering planning office. In 1998 she became a research assistant with Ulrich Korn at Otto von Guericke University in Magdeburg . In 2004 she did her PhD at this institution in the field of non-linear control theory . In the same year, measures were taken to ensure gender reassignment (man to woman) and the change of first name from Dirk to Daniela. Since 2008 she has been a professor at the Brandenburg Technical University Cottbus-Senftenberg (until June 30, 2013 Lausitz University of Applied Sciences ).

Working as a scientist and professor

In research, Döring deals with non-linear adaptive control using gain scheduling .

Döring has developed a practicable controller design for a polytopic gain scheduling controller for linear, parameter-variable systems (LPV systems). This is called LPV gain scheduling (linear parameter variable gain scheduling). She chose the Gaussian radial basic functions for the convex combination (interpolation) of the parameterized linear controller family . In addition, Döring succeeded in proving the (practical) stability of the closed non-linear control loop for convex areas using the LMI region approach . Döring's work is based on the principles of DJ Leith , WE Leithead , P. Korba , O. Nelles , WJ Rugh , JS Shamma et al. R. Murray-Smith et al. and S. Sommer .

In addition, Döring deals with innovative methods of modeling biological systems and optimal control.

Political positions

University policy

Döring considers the process of transformation of the East German technical universities of the university type into (academically restricted) universities of applied sciences to be a wrong educational decision made in the period after the reunification. She advocates for academic equality between (technical) colleges and universities.
