Daniela Dar-Creutz

Daniela Dar-Creutz (* before 1985 in Munich ) is a German filmmaker who lives in New York and Munich.

Life

Daniela Creutz completed her art studies with Seeger at the University of Munich in 1992 with a master's degree in her native city. In 1995 she emigrated to the United States after receiving the BDA Design Award for her "Easter Campaign" 6 information to study film at New York University.

Two years later, in 1997, after her first successful short film, she founded Blu Circe Productions in New York City. In July 2011 the company moved back to Munich. As a director, author and editor for film and television, she works in English and German for various production companies and television stations.

Dar-Creutz went on a mountain bike expedition through Indonesia in 1992 for the documentary “By bike through Indonesia”. This is followed by the 1999 productions "Four experts ... in search of a film". In 2002 she directed a 33-part series about Alfred Nobel and the most important Nobel Prize winners of the past 100 years on behalf of the Smithsonian Museum and the “German New Yorkers”. The series was created in the aftermath of September 11, at the time of the attack, Dar-Creutz was living in New York City, an impressionist view of 14 Germans. To prepare the script for “Tug of War”, Dar-Creutz lived in Cambodia for two months to do research on site.

In 2011 she received the Juliane Bartel Media Prize for her documentary Arranged Happiness in the category Documentation, Reportage, Feature, Magazine Article with a length of more than 10 minutes .

Daniela Dar-Creutz is a member of the Bundesverband Regie and ProQuote Regie .
