Daniil Yakovlevich Khrabrovitsky
Daniil Jakowlewitsch Khrabrowizki ( Russian Даниил Яковлевич Храбровицкий ; born June 28, 1923 in Rostov-on-Don ; † March 1, 1980 in Moscow ) was a Russian screenwriter and film director .
life and work
Chrabrowizki studied at the Maxim Gorky Literature Institute in Moscow from 1940 to 1942 , then was drafted into military service, which he experienced as a soldier in the Red Army until the end of the war . After the Second World War he worked as a reporter and correspondent for various Russian-language newspapers, and later became a student of the renowned screenwriter Yevgeny Gabrilowitsch . In 1957 he finished his studies with his mentor and from then on wrote screenplays independently.
Three of his first works already secured him a permanent place in the history of Soviet cinema and were filmed by renowned directors. Besides Viktor Schilins Dangerous Silence (1959) emerged Grigori Tschuchrais Clear sky (1961) and Mikhail Romm Strip nine days a year . With the screenplay for Klarer Himmel he finally secured his breakthrough as an author, received several awards for it and was henceforth one of the leading Soviet screenwriters.
In 1965 he also tried his hand at behind the camera and made his debut as a film director with the film Appell , followed by other film productions. His last work, a film about the development of airplanes and flight, for which he also developed the scenario together with Anatoly Sakharov, he finished in 1979. A year later, the filmmaker, who was awarded the state prize, died in Moscow at the age of 56.

Awards
In 1974 he received the award of "Honored Artist of the RSFSR" ( Russian Заслуженный деятель искусств РСФСР ) and was later honored with the state prize.
