Danilo Alvim Faria (born March 12, 1920 in Rio de Janeiro , † May 16, 1996 ibid), often just called Danilo , was a Brazilian football player . He was a member of the Brazilian national team at the 1950 World Cup in Brazil. He was born in Rio de Janeiro and started his career at the América Football Club Rio de Janeiro. Stations at Vasco da Gama and Botafogo followed.

He played 24 times for the Brazilian national team and scored two goals. He won the Copa America in 1949 and was in the playoff for the 1950 World Cup. Although Brazil had played a very strong tournament, had a home advantage in the Maracana Stadium and only needed a draw, they lost to Uruguay and were only runner-up. This game is considered a tragedy in Brazil and is also known as Maracanaço .
