Dankwart Danckwerts

Dankwart Danckwerts (born March 14, 1933 in Hamburg ; † May 11, 2012 ) was a German professor of sociology and social education . He is considered one of the most innovative and versatile Marxist sociologists in Germany.

After passing the trade test and assistants studied sociology and economics in Hamburg and from 1960 in Münster he received his doctorate in 1964 there with Helmut Schelsky Dr. sc. pol.

After doing field research in Chile, he worked as a professor of sociology after his retirement in 1999 at the University of Duisburg , particularly in the field of traffic sociology .
