Danna María García Osuna (mostly just Danna García ; born February 4, 1978 in Medellín , Colombia ) is a Colombian actress , musician and singer , who is also known by her nickname Dannita . She gained considerable fame primarily through her engagements in Spanish-language telenovelas and as a face in the advertising campaigns of Garnier and Maybelline New York .

life and career

García was born in 1978 in the second largest city in Colombia, Medellín, where she grew up in part. Her mother is the formerly very successful Colombian singer Claudia Osuna . Danna García started her career at the age of four, when she was slowly venturing into the acting field. For example, when she was eight she was seen in various commercials in Latin America and since she was also musically interested, over the years she founded the band Café Moreno with her sister Claudia, the two also have a brother . After the band was founded in 1994, the sisters celebrated several successes in their home country and released, among other things, the triple platinum album Momposina . She continued her acting career at the Teatro Nacional de Colombia , the national theater of Colombia, where she received professional acting training. In 2010 she was brought into the cast of Alguien te mira , where she can again be seen in one of the leading roles alongside Christian Meier and Rafael Amaya . This series is also a remake, based on the Chilean series of the same name , which was produced from 2007. The series, which was mainly produced in the United States, was broadcast in the United States from September 2010 to February 2011 and over time also came to international broadcasts.
