Daniel "Danny" Gabbidon (born August 8, 1979 in Cwmbran , Wales ) is a Welsh football player and coach .
Career
society
From 1998 to 2000 Gabbidon played for the club West Bromwich Albion and moved to Cardiff City on loan . In his one-month loan period, he played seven games and convinced the club, which Gabbidon promptly signed. At Cardiff City, he scored ten goals in 190 games in five years. So far, these have been his only competitive goals in his career. Since 2005, which was central defender at West Ham United is committed.
In the summer of 2011, however, his expiring contract was not extended. After a trial session, Gabbidon found a new job with Premier League promoted Queens Park Rangers and signed a one-year contract. His contract with Queens Park expired in the summer of 2012 and he moved to Crystal Palace in September 2012 . In September 2015 he returned to Cardiff, where he was also an interim coach for a short time. In August 2015, he moved to the Welsh fourth division AFC Panteg as player- coach , where he plays with his brother David.
National team
Gabbidon played 17 games for his country's U-21 team. He made his debut for the A-Team on March 27, 2002 in a friendly international match against the Czech Republic. On November 16, 2005, he led his team against Cyprus as captain on the field. The game in Limassol ended 1-0 for Cyprus.
Awards
In 2005 he was named Wales' Footballer of the Year . In 2006 he finished second behind Marlon Harewood in the vote for "Hammer of the Year", the award for the best West Ham player of the season .
