Danny Hakim

Danny Hakim (born March 10, 1971 in Norfolk (Virginia) ) is an American investigative journalist in the London office of the New York Times .

Hakim studied from 1990 to 1993 at St. John's College in Annapolis, Maryland , where he earned a bachelor's degree in philosophy . He began his professional career as a copy assistant at the Washington Post . After working as a court reporter at Greenville News in Greenville (South Carolina) and as a business journalist at SmartMoney.com , he joined the New York Times in 2000 .

After serving as European business correspondent, Hakim became head of the NYT Detroit offices in 2005 and the NYT Albany office in 2007 . In 2012 he moved to NYT's London office.

2009 Hakim was with William K. Rashbaum and Joe Sexton for his reporting on the connections from Eliot Spitzer to call girl rings with the Pulitzer Prize for " Current reporting excellent". In 2012, Hakim and Russ Buettner were a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in New York for a series on abuse , neglect and corruption in the care of disabled people in New York . His reports on glyphosate have also been in numerous media such as B. Forbes and Huffington Post referenced.
