Danny Joe Brown

Danny Joe Brown (born August 24, 1951 in Jacksonville , Florida , † March 10, 2005 in Davie , Florida) was an American singer and founding member of the American rock band Molly Hatchet .

Danny Joe Brown founded the Molly Hatchet group in Jacksonville in 1975. He also composed songs for the group, whose biggest hits included Flirtin 'With Disaster , Whiskey Man and Gator Country .

After an endless series of touring, Brown dropped out of the group in 1980 due to exhaustion. His many years of severe diabetes also forced him to interrupt his music career several times for health reasons. He returned to Molly Hatchet a few years later in 1988 with his album Lightning Strikes Twice .

In 1995 Brown resigned in the middle of the recording for the album Devil's Canyon , again for health reasons. He chose his successor Phil McCormack himself. Brown suffered a stroke in 1998 and died on March 10, 2005 of complications from pneumonia .
