Daniel "Danny" Johnson (born February 28, 1993 in Middlesbrough ) is an English football player who is under contract with Leyton Orient .
Career
Danny Johnson started his career in his hometown with Middlesbrough FC . In his youth he was also active in Hartlepool, 12 km away at Hartlepool United . As an 18-year-old he played for Real Murcia in Spain for a year before returning to England. On his return he played for Harrogate Town and Billingham Synthonia in the National League . He came to Guisborough Town in 2013 . Then Cardiff City took him under contract. The Welsh club loaned him to Tranmere Rovers and Stevenage FC for the next two years after signing . For both clubs he completed four league games in the 4th division . In July 2015 Johnson moved to the English fifth division club FC Gateshead . In the following three years Johnson scored 44 goals in 110 league games. After three seasons at Gateshead, the 25-year-old Johnson moved to Motherwell FC in the Scottish Premiership in June 2018 . After a season in Motherwell, Johnson moved to first division relegated FC Dundee . Half a year later, in January 2020, he moved to the English fourth division club Leyton Orient .
