Dante A. Linyera , actually Francisco Bautista Rímoli , (born August 2, 1902 in Buenos Aires , † July 14, 1938 ibid) was an Argentine poet and journalist.

Life

Linyera grew up in the Barrio San Cristóbal and met Vicente Greco (Garrote) at an early age , whose family lived in his neighborhood. Already for his first literary attempts Linyera chose his pseudonym under which he is known to this day: "Dante A." stands for the Italian poet Dante Alighieri and "Linyera" refers to a rascal or thief in Lunfardo .

After a short commercial apprenticeship, Linyera got a job in a bank, but only did this for a short time. He wrote regularly for the La Montaña and El Telégrafo newspapers . With the help of colleagues, he founded the magazine El Purrete for young people and later the sports news La Cancha .

From 1921 Linyera also worked as a journalist for the magazine El alma que canta , founded by Vicente Buccheri , and in 1928 he founded the magazine La canción moderna (later name Radiolandia ) with almost no help . In addition, almost every day song texts or poems were written, which were then set to music - mostly by tango musicians; u. a. by Alberto Cima , Francisco and Julio De Caro , Carlos Marcucci , Domingo Precona or Rafael Tuegols .

Linyera died twenty days before his 36th birthday on July 14, 1938 in Buenos Aires, where he found his final resting place.

“Todavía recuerdo su aire de muchacho triste, pensativo y sus largas caminatas por la calle Corrientes . Fue un cantor angustiado de lo porteño , un hombre ensombrecidopor el sufrimiento de los pobres. Y todavía me acuerdo de su pierna claudicante, de su andar defectuosoque parecía confirmar que él era un poeta de la mala pata "
