Dante Cordova Blanco

Dante Córdova Blanco (born June 3, 1943 in Lima ) is a Peruvian politician who was Prime Minister of Peru from July 28, 1995 to April 3, 1996 .

Life

After attending the Colegio Nacional Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe in 1960, Córdova Blanco began studying law at the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (UNMSM) and, after graduating, began working as a lawyer . In addition, he was the manager of various companies such as managing director general of the shipping company PERUMAR SA , chairman of the board of the shipping company PETROLERA TRANSOCEANICA , director of the Association of Airports and Civil Aviation CORPAC (Corporación Peruana de Aeropuertos y Aviación Comercial) , director of the export company ADEX (Asociación de Exportadores del Perú ) , Director of the Petroleum Company Petroperú, Director of PERUNED and President of the Commission for the Privatization of Public Companies COPRI (Comisión de Privatización de las empresas Públicas) .

On February 3, 1993, Prime Minister Óscar de la Puente Raygada succeeded Alfredo Ross Antezana as Minister for Transport, Communication, Housing and Construction (Ministro de Transportes, Comunicaciones, Vivienda y Construcción) and held this ministerial office until 28. July 1995. He was also Minister of Education (Ministro de Educación) between June 8, 1995 and April 11, 1996 . On July 28, 1995, he was appointed by President Alberto Fujimori to succeed Efraín Goldenberg Schreiber as Prime Minister of Peru (Presidente del Consejo de Ministros) . He held the post of Prime Minister until April 3, 1996, when he was replaced by Alberto Pandolfi Arbulú . He later became a critic of President Fujimori.
