Dap Izaaks

David Jacobus "Dap" Izaaks (* 1932 or 1933 ; † 2005 in Windhoek ), also known as Oom Dap , was a Namibian politician , acting captain of the Rehoboth Baster and mayor of Rehoboth .

Izaaks founded the Rehoboth People's Party in 1968 . After the death of Johannes Diergaardt , he was the reigning captain from February 12, 1998 to January 11, 1999 . In 1999 he lost the election of Baster leader to John McNab . Izaaks received 17.6 percent of the vote.

Izaaks died as a result of a traffic accident.
