The pointed head water flea ( Daphnia cristata ) is a species from the genus Daphnia ( Daphnia ).
Females are up to 1.5 millimeters long. The body is glass-like and transparent and strongly flattened on the sides. The head armor is pulled back into a corner. There is no nauplius eye . The rostrum is long and pointed. The antennae of the first antennae extend far beyond the tip of the rostrum . The head is very changeable. The tail spine is always thin and long. The compound eye is small.
Daphnia cristata occurs east of the Vistula and in southern Sweden.
