Princess Daria Karađorđević of Serbia (born March 21, 1859 in Cleveland , Ohio as Myra Abigail "Abbie" Pankhurst ; † June 26, 1938 in Cannes , France ) was an American golfer and later Princess of Serbia .
biography
Daria Pankhurst was married to William Wright for the first time . With her second husband Thomas Huger Pratt , who was very wealthy, she spent a large part in Europe. There the couple made good contacts with members of royalty. As Abbie Pratt , she took part in the 1900 Olympic Games in the first ever women's Olympic golf tournament , where she finished third. After her husband died at a young age a few years later, she married Prince Alexis Karađorđević of Serbia in 1913 and remained a princess until her death.
