Darlén Bakke

Darlén Bakke (* in Norway ) is a Norwegian pianist who has lived and worked in Germany for many years - currently (2008) in Hanover.

biography

At the age of eleven, Bakke won first prize in the Norwegian Piano Competition for Young Piano Masters . Already at the age of twelve she appeared as a soloist in several orchestral concerts . She completed her studies in Oslo , Salzburg and Hanover , among others with Einar Steen-Nökleberg and most recently in the soloist class of Hans Leygraf.

She is married and has two kids.

Artistic work

Bakke has given concerts as a solo pianist and as a chamber musician in several European countries. She works with composers in Scandinavia , Germany and France and in various ensembles for contemporary music. It is present through radio, television, record and CD productions. In her artistic work, Bakke searches for cross-connections between music, art, literature and dance. She participates in interdisciplinary projects with artists from the visual arts, film and choreography on the subject of “night” or the relationship between sound and color. The aim is to design multimedia forms of presentation.

Pedagogical work

Bakke has been a lecturer at the Hanover University of Music and Theater (HMTH) since 1986 .

Other activities

At the Hanover University of Applied Sciences, Bakke u. a. the George Crumb Days. Since 1996 she has designed and realized the unheard series , in which contemporary female composers from different countries and cultures are presented. She is deputy chairwoman of the Hanover Society for New Music (HGNM).

Awards

For the years 1999 to 2002 Bakke was awarded the Lower Saxony Dorothea Erxleben scholarship.
