Darwin Deez is an American indie folk band from New York , who are under contract with the music label Lucky Number . It was named after its front man Darwin Deez (Darwin Smith).
Band history
The group formed around their front man Darwin Deez, a singer who attended Wesleyan University and was a former guitarist with the Creaky Boards.
The group first received public attention in the UK in late 2009 when they released their debut single, Constellations . In April 2010, the group released their second single, Radar Detector , which managed to reach number 62 on the UK singles chart and number five on the UK independent charts .
Named after the group, the debut album Darwin Deez was released on April 12, 2010 in both the United Kingdom and the United States .
In autumn 2010 the band began their world tour.
In February 2011 they released a mixtape called Wonky Beats . Darwin Deez began an Australia tour in April 2011 , which included the Groovin the Moo Festival.
In February 2013, Darwin Deez released their second album entitled Songs for Imaginative People and went on tour to promote the album.
Darwin Deez released their third studio album, Double Down, on September 18, 2015 on the Lucky Number record label.
