The Flying Eye is an American television series based on the feature film The Flying Eye .

In the pilot episode , a special unit of the Los Angeles police force is formed to stop a psychopath using the high-tech helicopter "Blue Thunder". The crew is supported by a special unit on the ground.
In the course of the series, international criminals, spies and foreign mercenary troops are successfully stopped in their criminal activities.
history
After the success of the movie, ABC presented the spin-off series Blue Thunder to the American audience for the first time in 1984 . The viewers soon criticized the character of a parody that the series had: The characters were just allusions to the characters in the film. So Frank Murphy, whose further career remains open in the film, was replaced by Frank Chaney , Richard Lymangood, who was murdered in the film, was succeeded by Clinton Wonderlove . The series was unsuccessful and couldn't keep up with the ratings of Airwolf, which aired almost simultaneously on CBS . Only 11 episodes were produced.
In Germany , the series was only broadcast by RTL in 1996 , with the same success. There has been no repetition until today.
