James Farentino
James Farentino (born February 24, 1938 in Brooklyn , New York , † January 24, 2012 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American film actor .
Life
Farentino's best-known film role is that of Simon Petrus in Franco Zeffirelli's 1977 television film Jesus von Nazareth. He himself received an Emmy nomination for this role . He also appeared in The Denver Clan between 1981 and 1982 and in Melrose Place in 1998 . In Emergency Room , James Farentino starred as Ray Ross, father of Doug Ross, aka George Clooney , in 1996 .
James Farentino was repeatedly noticed in private by escapades. In the early 1990s, he made headlines in the US as the stalker of Tina Sinatra , Frank Sinatra's daughter . He was also arrested in Canada in 1991 with 3.2 grams of cocaine in his possession. However, he was released on bail. Farentino was married four times. His first marriage to film actress Elizabeth Ashley lasted from 1962 to 1965. With his second wife Michele Lee Farentino had their only child, son David Farentino , who is also an actor today. His marriage to Lee lasted 16 years, from 1966 to 1982. Debrah Farentino became his wife in 1985, and they divorced three years later. Since August 3, 1994, James was married to Stella Farentino .
After a long illness, Farentino died of heart failure on January 24, 2012 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center .
