The Data Group SE (own notation: DATA GROUP SE ) is a German IT service provider for commercial customers from SMEs, large companies and public administration. The company, with its headquarters in the Stuttgart region , has grown through acquisitions, takeovers and the expansion of business areas since 2006 and is represented at many locations throughout Germany. Datagroup employs around 2,700 people and, according to the Lünendonk list, is one of the 20 leading IT service companies in Germany.

Company headquarters in Pliezhausen

The company was founded in 1983 by Max H.-H. Schaber and Herbert Schwarzkopf founded under the name Datapec, later Datagroup GmbH, in Filderstadt near Stuttgart . The first product was a customer-specific software solution for a physiotherapy practice . Three years later Datagroup already had 80 employees and made 10 million DM in sales. a. with well-known customers such as Audi and BMW .

The profits were put into the creation of new companies, as a result of which a Europe-wide chain of hardware trading companies was created. This step developed positively for a few years until the point in time when the margins in the hardware trade steadily decreased. DATAGROUP sold all of its European subsidiaries, realigned itself and developed an innovative hospital information system that was sold to 36 hospitals.

In 1995 the grown company moved to the new company headquarters near Stuttgart. The Datagroup building was awarded the Hugo Häring Prize in 1997 for its "high-brain / low-tech architecture" .

Due to the upheavals in the health industry, the company shifted its focus to IT services.

Datagroup IT Services Holding AG (today Datagroup SE) was founded in 2005; Chairman of the board became Max H.-H. Scraper. The company went public in 2006 ; Datagroup has since been listed in the Entry Standard . Since the IPO in 2006, today's Datagroup SE has acquired 23 companies or parts of companies. With the takeover and integration of HDT Hanseatische Datentechnik GmbH (today Datagroup Hamburg GmbH) in 2008, managing director Dirk Peters was appointed as COO on the board of the then Datagroup AG. In 2016 the company changed its legal form from a German to a European stock corporation (Societas Europaea, SE). The share switched to the newly created Scale stock market segment in March 2017 .

In 2019, the company took over UBL Informationssysteme GmbH as well as assets and sub-companies of the insolvent IT-Informatik GmbH.

Products

Datagroup is a full-service provider and offers the full-service Corbox (own spelling: CORBOX) for the IT of companies. Corbox is a modular, complete package, including cloud services and other centralized services from ISO 27001-certified Datagroup data centers in Germany. For users, Corbox offers the service desk as a single point of contact as well as on-site support for the IT workstations and the printer infrastructure. Datagroup's IT services are based on the ISO 20000 certificate for professional IT service management .

Datagroup was named Top Innovator 2016 on June 24, 2016.

Datagroup was listed in June 2017 as one of the "20 leading IT service companies in Germany".

Navisco and Whitelane Research published the Outsourcing Study for Germany and Austria in January 2017 with the result that Datagroup was listed in second place out of 22 IT service providers in the “General Satisfaction with Outsorcing Contract” ranking.
