Data technology assistant

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The data technology assistant (DTA) is an apprenticeship in Germany. The duration of the training is 2 years, with the possibility of attaining the advanced technical college entrance qualification alongside the lessons . After passing the final exam, you are “state-certified data technology assistant”. The training takes the form of a 2-year vocational college, among other things .

DTA training goes back to the 1970s. The IT boom of the 1990s brought a wealth of new professions with it and replaced the DTA. A current training that comes close to the DTA is "Assistants in information and communication technology", which is also offered in the form of a vocational college.

The final phase of the DTA training was mainly characterized by outdated teaching content. Instead of the then modern object-oriented programming language C ++ , Standard C was taught. The teaching content was still very much based on the microcomputers and microcontrollers that appeared in the late 1970s and early 1980s and included, for example, programming in an assembly language . Other focal points were electrical engineering , control technology and regulation technology .

Current developments such as the Internet and multimedia were not part of the course content.
