The Datum Peak is a 1575 m high mountain in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It rises 2.6 km west of Williams Peak above the southern flank of the Gauss Glacier near the southwestern extension of Hobbs Ridge .
Like numerous other geographical objects in the area, this mountain is also named after a term borrowed from geodesy . The New Zealand Geographic Board made the name in 1993. The name is given by the geodetic date .
